Here’s your Easter weekend round-up:
- I have a new article at the Vancouver Observer about the controversies and debates surrounding Lilith Fair.
- The awesome Marlee Matlin has a new YouTube reality series called “My Deaf Family”. Here’s the LA Times article.
- For those of you interested in women in politics, check out this list of 5 social-media-savvy women in politics from the Undomestic Goddess.
- I’ve been having a discussion with a couple friends recently about whether casual sex can be empowering for women. So here’s an ABC article on that very subject, about a debate going on between groups at Harvard.
- Some UK feminists asked me to promote their campaign against Diesel Jeans’ sexist and distasteful advertising campaign. If you’re interested, you can find their Facebook group here.
- Further to yesterday’s post on gender and climate change, the Association of Women in Development blog has a great article on gender-aware responses to natural disasters.
- I honestly have no idea how I missed this, but I am now hooked to Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls at the Party, where smart girls talk about having fun and being themselves.
That’s it for me today! Have a great long weekend everyone!
-Jarrah
